There are a number of ways you can support the choir including making financial donations. Please contact us for more information.

The Choir was founded in 1925, first registered as a charity in 1972 and is governed by a Constitution and Rules. The charitable objects of the Choir are ‘the study and practice of choral music in order to foster public knowledge and appreciation of such music by means of public performance’.

The Choir seeks to achieve these objects by:

  • giving public performances in a number of musical styles at a variety of venues often in support of other charitable organisations;
  • offering opportunities for male singers to develop and practise their skills in rehearsal and performance.
  • The main areas of activity are:

  • giving concerts primarily in York and North Yorkshire;
  • entering competitive musical festivals;
  • holding internal training or social events;
  • developing collaborative links with other choirs.
